Facebook Business Applications Posted on August 27th, 2008
I am new to Facebook. My kids laughed when they heard I was setting up my Facebook profile. I told them it wasn’t ‘just’ to be aware of what they’re doing but also it use for business. I’ll admit I wasn’t sure how to use it for business at first. As I research how others are using it, I’m getting the picture.
Today, one of my favorite blogs, Ductape Marketing, listed the top 10 business applications for Facebook. I’m going to work on incorporating those into my profile over the next few days. Read the blog here.
BTW, I need more friends. ;) Please visit my profile, add me and let me know how you’re making it work for your business.

QBQ! The Question Behind the Question Posted on August 6th, 2008
I got a chance to re-read this book yesterday. It’s a quick and powerful reminder that we need to always look at role we play in our own lives. Personal Responsiblity. While it seems scary to take responsiblity for things in your life, it’s actually liberating. It means you have a direct impact on your own life. You have the ability to change it for the better.
A few years ago I went through the QBQ! workshop which was done by Nancy Bleeke. Having gone through the program, it’s a great reminder to pick up the book again and revisit the principles. I highly recommend both the workshop and the book.

Missed me? I’ve had a number of people email me and tell me that they’d like to see my blog continue. I was very busy on some personal and professional projects for awhile but my interest and passion for sales has never died. Expect more frequent updates.
They’re Moving! Posted on April 26th, 2006

Recently a customer of mine used our system to design and announce their upcoming move. Quite impressive!
Andrea designed the card, uploaded it to our system and was able to send it to her friends, family, prospects and customers with the click of a button. Her card was then printed, addressed, stamped and mailed for her.
To try the system yourself, visit http://www.SendOutCards.com/6936 and sign up for a free trial.

Choose Your Response Posted on February 6th, 2006
I once heard this story and while I don’t know where it came from originally, it’s worth repeating.
This story involves two guys running into each other at the grocery store. One was a little older. He asked the other how he was doing. The younger man replied that he was “OK under the circumstances”. The older man didn’t miss a beat. “What are you doing under there and why would you choose to stay there?” The younger man was puzzled for a moment until it dawned on him that he didn’t need to let life’s circumstances weigh him down and control his life.
Some might view his response as flip or not very compassionate. I would appreciate someone stopping me in my tracks like that. It’s so easy to let yourself fall into the victim mentality. Sometimes it takes an outsider to help us recognize how dangerous it is. Like most things in life, it’s not about what is said but how we choose to perceive it that matters.
I’ve Made The Switch to WordPress Posted on January 25th, 2006

I heard from “experts” that I needed to get serious about my blogging. While Blogger was an easy way for me to begin and learn, I wanted to take it to the next level before I had too many posts.
I was nervous about switching from Blogger to WordPress. I knew it was going to take some mental work on my part to figure out all of the techie stuff. It actually wasn’t too bad. My new hosting company HostM was wonderful. They handle all the install. I highly recommend them.
I also appreciate the work of Mike Cherim from Beast-Blog. This is his design that I modified for my use. When I needed help, he was quick to respond. Thanks Mike!
Farming vs Hunting Posted on January 11th, 2006
“Five thousand years ago, every human was a hunter. If you were hungry, you got a rock or a stick and you went hunting. The problem was that all of the animals were either dead or really good at hiding. Fortunately, we discovered/invented the idea of farming. Plant seeds, fertilize em, water em, watch em grow and then you harvest them. The idea spread and it led to the birth of civilization. Everyone got the idea… except for marketers. Marketers still like to hunt. What we’re discovering, though, is that the good prospects are getting really good at hiding.” Seth
So, let’s apply the farming concept!
Do You Hear Me? Posted on January 10th, 2006
I found a new tool that I am excited about. It reads me my email, reports, web pages, etc. There is a free version but the upgrade is only $39.50! I downloaded the free version this morning and already LOVE it!
I have to get an IPod now so I can download and listen while I do housework!
